Wanderléa fez 80 anos nesta quarta-feira, cinco de junho de 2024. No mesmo dia, se estivesse vivo, Erasmo Carlos teria completado 83 anos. Roberto Carlos fez 83 em abril. Na segunda metade da década de 1960, foram protagonistas da Jovem Guarda.

Roberto Carlos já era o Rei, embora, àquela época, fosse só da juventude. Erasmo Carlos era o Tremendão. E Wanderléa, a Ternurinha. Rótulos para sempre colados às personas públicas do trio.

Wanderléa Salim nasceu em Minas Gerais em 1944. Costumava dizer que era de 1946, o que ainda provoca confusão. Mas o ano correto do seu nascimento – 1944 – foi, finalmente, assumido pela cantora quando esta lançou a sua autobiografia.

Wanderléa foi a voz feminina da Jovem Guarda. Na televisão, no mercado fonográfico, no mundo da moda, aparecia sempre ao lado de Roberto e Erasmo Carlos no “movimento” que foi breve, mas que marcou a música pop brasileira.

A primeira fase da discografia de Wanderléa é a da CBS. Ali, gravou um repertório juvenil de rocks e canções românticas, tanto versões quanto músicas de compositores brasileiros. São discos ingênuos nos quais estão alguns dos seus maiores sucessos – Ternura, Te Amo, Foi Assim, Prova de Fogo.

No cinema, foi Beth, uma cantora em busca da fama, em Juventude e Ternura. Depois, contracenou com Roberto e Erasmo Carlos em O Diamante Cor de Rosa.

Wanderléa gravou seus melhores discos na década de 1970. A Jovem Guarda acabara, e ela lutava para ser assimilada pela turma – colegas e ouvintes – da MPB. Destaquem-se os álbuns Maravilhosa (1972), Feito Gente (1975, ao vivo), Vamos que eu já vou (1977) e Mais que a paixão (1978).

Vamos que eu já vou traz Wanderléa trabalhando em parceria com Egberto Gismonti. No fundo, ainda que com algum exagero, pode ser dito que é um disco de Egberto Gismonti cantado por Wanderléa. Gismonti compõe, arranja, toca, produz. Wanderléa canta.

Wanderléa procurou novos caminhos para sua carreira, mas o mercado dos shows e dos discos sempre puxou a artista para um interminável revival da Jovem Guarda.

Não faz muito tempo, gravou um CD todo dedicado ao repertório autoral de Sueli Costa, e, há pouco, fez um álbum em que se debruça sobre o choro, gênero que cultivou quando ainda não era uma profissional da música.

É Wanderléa em suas tentativas de se afirmar em outras “praias” que não a da Jovem Guarda. Plenamente, nunca conseguiu. Na memória afetiva dos seus ouvintes, para o bem e para o mal, nunca deixará de ser a Ternurinha.
